Batalha Monastery, is a Dominican convent in the Portuguese town of Batalha. It's one of the best and original examples of Late Gothic architecture in Portugal, intermingled with the Manueline style.
As Capelas Imperfeitas (The Unfinished Chapels) remain as a testimony of the fact that the monastery was never actually finished. They form a separate octagonal structure tacked on the choir of the church and only accessible from the outside. It was commissioned in 1437 by King Duarte I as a second royal mausoleum for himself and his descendants.

nie powiedziałabym, że tu mieszkają dominikanie. wygląda egzotycznie, że człowiek spodziewałby się tu raczej jakichś muzułmanów, luib kogoś w tym stylu :)
Pasażerko masz rację. To chyba przez te bogate wykończenia architektoniczne takie wrażenie ma człowiek. Ja bym w ogóle nie powiedziała, że to pomieszczenia zakonników;)
