Atlanta is the capital and most populous city in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of 2009^[update] Atlanta had an estimated population of about 540,922 people. Its metropolitan area is the ninth largest in the country, inhabited by more than 5.4 million people.

Atlanta was the host city for the Centennial 1996 Summer Olympics (Polish athletes got 17 medals!)

My favourite TV series 'The Vampire Diaries' is filmed in Atlanta :)
